This is a personal experience being shared for the Forex market where one can look for 30 to 50 pips when the market is choppy and when market is trending one can look for 100 pips.

In case of choppy markets one can put a stop loss at 20 pips and ensure that one does not use trailing stop technique.

When the market is trending comfortably, one can put top price at 100 pips with loss at 35 pips with a trailing stop at 35 pips.
One can use a combination of M15, H1 and H4 charts to support all each other.
